Macon Monsanto Roundup Injury Attorneys

Giving Injured Residents in Macon a Voice

Businesses are liable for injuries caused by a product that presents an unreasonable risk to public safety. Companies who market such products, despite having knowledge of their hazards, should not be allowed to profit while ordinary people are left to deal with the adverse consequences of the business’ wrongful acts.

Justice demands that companies like Monsanto who produce dangerous products such as Roundup be held accountable for their injurious conduct. If you or a loved one has used the weed killer Roundup for 1 year or more, and been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma or B-Cell Lymphoma, you may be entitled to compensation. As a result, you should consult an experienced Monsanto Roundup injury lawyer in Macon about recovering compensation for your losses.

At Cooper, Barton & Cooper, we have experience dealing with various personal injury cases, including matters involving dangerously defective products like Roundup. You should not have to shoulder the financial and legal burden of dealing with your losses if companies like Monsanto have been shown to be legally responsible for causing your injuries. Our legal team can guide you through the legal process of finding a legal remedy for the injuries you were forced to endure through no fault of your own.

To explore your legal rights and options for finding a legal remedy for your injuries, call us at (478) 202-7050 to consult an experienced attorney today.

The Dangers of Monsanto Roundup

Roundup is an herbicide that contains the chemical known as glyphosate. According to the World Health Organization, glyphosate is a probable carcinogen that has been connected to incidences of non-Hodgkins lymphoma—a form of cancer that afflicts a body’s white blood cells known as lymphocytes. Lymphocytes are an integral part of the body’s immune system and are responsible for combatting infectious diseases associated with bacterial and viral infections.

Symptoms of non-Hodgkins lymphoma include:

  • Night sweats
  • Weight loss
  • Bone pain
  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Fever

The prevelance of Roundup injury cases led the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to consolidate several Roundup injury lawsuits to the United States Distircut Court for the Northern District of California for pre-trial purposes in 2016.

Last year, Monsanto was sued for personal injuries stemming from exposure to their product, Roundup. The plaintiffs in those cases developed non-Hodgkins lymphoma after repeated and prolonged use of the herbicide. The juries in those cases found Monsanto liable for marketing such an unreasonably dangerous product and hit them with millions of dollars in punitive damages.

Many businesses provide essential goods and services to everyday people. In return, the rest of us reward those businesses with our hard-earned cash. However, when a successful business grows so powerful that they think they are above taking responsibility for their reckless actions, innocent people are thrown into harm’s way. Fortunately, our civil justice system was designed to ensure businesses are held responsible for their careless disregard for public safety.
